Starting in 2014 a small group of researchers began work to profile the men from Chalford who died in World War II. This led to a the publication in 2016 of a book A Parish at War: Brownshill, Bussage, Chalford and France Lynch 1914-1919 by Camilla Boon, Hilary Burgess, Roger Carnt, Heather Collins, Peter Drover and Juliet Stewart. This includes short biographies of the 156 men who died, together with information about men who fought and survived, prisoners of war and life on the home front.
