Chalford Parish Local History Group (CPLHG) is subject to the UK’s general data protection regulations (GDPR), which control the use of personal data.

Under our Privacy Policy, CPLHG will:

  • Comply with the data protection laws in the UK.
  • Only collect personal data (usually just name and e-mail address) for the purpose of administration of CPLHG and its activities.
  • Only contact an individual by post, e-mail, or telephone if they have given their explicit permission (usually at the time of joining the Group) for that method. An individual can withdraw that permission at any time by contacting CPLHG. Contact will normally be by e-mail.
  • Look after the data, which is held as strictly confidential, and notify the relevant people if there has been a breach.
  • Allow an individual to see the data held about them and if necessary, amend or delete all or part of the data on request.
  • Review data regularly, and when no longer needed for the administration of CPLHG, will delete and destroy it carefully so it cannot be accessed in the future.
  • Not use the data for business purposes.
  • Not pass on the data to a third party without an individual’s explicit consent

Renewal of individual consent

At the start of every membership year, we will inform everyone on our mailing list (as part of the membership renewal reminder email) of this privacy policy and at the same time inform them of the actions to take if they no longer wish us to hold their contact details.  Renewal of membership and/or failure to respond to that email will be taken as continuing consent for us to hold personal details and use them for the purposes described above.

Every email sent out to the mailing list will include details on how to request removal from the mailing list and any such requests shall be complied with as soon as possible.
